Ramada International Youth Cup

iPlay u10's competed in the Ramada International Youth Cup on November 21st & 22nd against football academies from all over all over Asia. After going ahead in the first game, we relaxed too much allowing Sport Beijing to come from behind to win the game 2-1.

In our next game against Football Passion from Singapore, we again held the lead, but once again allowed the opposition to come from behind to take a 2-1 lead. This time however, we were able to fight back to a well earned 2-2 draw.

Our next opponent of the morning was C.U.K.I (A) team. We played some of our best football of the day, eventually losing 1-0 to an unfortunate goalkeeping error.

This was a good result against a very good side and showed how the team was starting to play together.

Into game four of the group round against Kickers from Malaysia. This was a well drilled Japanese side and we played some excellent football in this game. Unfortunately we were unable to find the back of the net and the game finished 1-0

Our final game of the Saturday was against Malaysia's Little League, who were dealt with clinically by a hat trick from Marco . Some great passing football saw us run out 3-0 winners.

Unfortunately our late revival was not enough to see us through to the Cup finals.

However, the next mornings start to the Plate competition couldn't have been better. An early start against C.U.K.I (B) saw iPlay win 2-0 with goals from Karatae and Luke.

Confidence was high going into the semi-final against BSL. However our attitude was far too relaxed due to playing against familiar faces and our teamwork disappeared along with our passing game as we were deservedly beaten 3-1 despite an excellent 25 yard goal from Harry.

Overall, it was a great tournament with excellent progress shown by a team playing together for the first time. Our Saturday games were all very close affairs, either drawn or decided by a single goal, but we were clearly able to compete against some of the best teams in Asia.
